Robert A. Call

CALL, Robert A. Passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2001 at the Friends House in Santa Rosa. He was 81. He had battled Parkinson’s disease for over 12 years. Born in Oakland on May 16, 1920, he lived in Santa Rosa since 1925. He was a fourth generation resident of Sonoma County. Devoted husband of 58 years of Peggy Call. Loving father of Candy Venge and her husband Nils, of Rutherford, Rick Call and his wife Rocky, of Santa Rosa and Mindy Narduzzi and her husband Dennis of Santa Rosa. Grandfather of the late Kirsten Venge, Erika Phillips and her husband Scott, Kirk Venge, Wade Call, Aimee Call, Trisha Narduzzi, Jeff Narduzzi and Beth Narduzzi. Great grandfather of Connor Phillips. A graduate of Santa Rosa High School in 1939, he attended SRJC and San Jose State. He and a partner started Santa Rosa Auto Parts in 1946 and Santa Rosa Bearing Company, now known as Power Industries, in 1951. He was on the Board of Trustees for Santa Rosa Junior College for 20 years. In 1996, the Robert A. Call Child Development Center was dedicated in recognition of his service. Past president and 44 year member of Santa Rosa Downtown Rotary Club. Active in Little League and was co-founder of the Santa Rosa Babe Ruth League. Helped with organization of YMCA in Santa Rosa. Past board member of the YMCA, Salvation Army, the California Automotive Wholesalers, Past President of the Associated Bearing and Power Transmission Distributors Association. Member of the Santa Rosa Luther Burbank Lodge #57 Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, and Shriners. Member of the Presbyterian Church of the Roses. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Services on Monday, September 24, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of the Roses, 2500 Patio Court, Santa Rosa.
