Rose Louise MIDGLEY

Age 94, passed away Oct. 19, 2013 at Emeritus Santa Rosa. She was a long time resident of Sebastopol. Born in San Francisco to Rose (Ansell) La Rondelle of England and Louis La Rondelle of Holland, she was the oldest of four children. Her sister Carolyn and brother Louis preceded her in death. She grew up in Los Angeles where she married Fauster Madariaga and together they raised three children. In the early 50's they moved to northern California, settling in Napa. Fauster passed away in 1965, Rose worked at the Napa State Hospital for 18 years. She remarried in 1974 to Calvert Midgley of Sebastopol, who preceded her in death in 1989. Together in 1975 they started Midgley's Country Flea Market in Sebastopol which is still in operation today. Rose continued running the flea market until the late 90's when she retired to her beloved garden. She is survived by her three children, Rosalie (Wade) Midgley, Clifford Madariaga and Yvonne Beardsley and three step children, Edward Midgley of Orland, William Midgley and Janet Skarlot of NV, brother Albert La Rondelle of Napa; grandchildren Gina Hetrick of Clearlake, Vickie Miller of Kelseyville, Donald Wade of PA, Dennis Wade of AZ, Rick Wade of Santa Rosa, Tamera Conzelman of Santa Rosa, Darrin Wade of IN, nieces Lynn Lyon of Arcadia, Linda Rosetti of Windsor, Jeanette Harris of Napa, and nephew Jim La Rondelle of Lodi. Also 11 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. We are thankful for the loving care by Heartland Hospice which made our mother's life so much more comfortable in the last year of her life. She loved the afternoon chats and all the tender care she was given. Our sincere thanks to all the wonderful caregivers at Emeritus of Santa Rosa. Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Parent Sorensen Mortuary in Sebastopol on Friday Oct. 25th from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. The funeral is planned for Monday Oct. 28th at Parent Sorensen Mortuary, 301 Main St., Sebastopol, CA at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Heartland Hospice 2455 Bennett Valley Rd., Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
