On Sunday, December 11, 2022, Ruby Ann Malde passed away peacefully in Santa Rosa, California. She was 97 years old.
Ruby was born December 1, 1925, on a small farm in Lake Preston, South Dakota. Ruby worked for Northwestern Bell starting new offices in Charlottesville, Virginia and La Crosse, Wisconsin. Ruby loved to travel so she moved to San Francisco and worked for Pacific Bell. At Northwestern Lutheran Church, a coworker (Oddfrid, who would later become her sister-in-law), introduced her to Arnold (Paul) Malde who was Oddfrid's brother.
In 1960, she married the love of her life Paul Arnold Malde and moved to Santa Rosa, California. Ruby was a loving mother to Jane Malde Jinks, Scott Malde, a loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Ruby enjoyed her family, circle group at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, volunteering at Memorial Hospital, gardening, and her puzzles.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, brother, and parents. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or the Redwood Gospel Mission.
