Samuel Skolnik Obituary

Passed peacefully at home on February 12, 2009 with his family by his side. He was 86. Sam was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his loving wife, Janice Skolnik, of 57 years; children Pamela Varney, Gail Bush, Debra Skolnik, Steven Skolnik and Kenneth Skolnik; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Samuel was born in New York. He was a decorated World War II veteran where he stormed the beaches of Normandy and was part of the liberation of Paris, France. He then moved to Ohio where he worked at Wright Patterson AFB and retired as a Division Chief of the Mission Avionics Division where he received numerous awards. A celebration of Sam's life will be held at the SANTA ROSA MEMORIAL PARK on Monday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m., 1900 Franklin Ave, Santa Rosa. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in his honor, made to the American Heart Association.
