Sarah Wright Obituary

Sarah Angela Wright
March 24, 1988 - June 27, 2024
In Loving Memory of Sarah Angela Wright.
Our beloved daughter, sister, loving partner, cousin, and cherished friend to many, Sarah Angela Wright, passed away on June 27, 2024, surrounded by family after a six-week battle with meningitis at UCSF Hospital.
Sarah was born in Santa Rosa to loving parents Nancy and King Wright. She was the oldest of three children, with two siblings, Clifford and Peter. Though her life was too short, she achieved so much in her 36 years. During her high school years at Ursuline, Sarah split her time between her studies, water polo, soccer, and Girl Scouts. She raised money to work at a bridging school for underprivileged children in Namibia for her Girl Scout Gold Award, the same year she was awarded the Girl Scouts' Gem of a Girl Award.
Sarah graduated from UC Davis with a BA in International Studies, where she became involved in Student Government, Kappa Alpha Theta, and numerous internships, including one at the US Embassy in Tokyo.
After graduating, Sarah worked at Triage Consulting, conducting risk analysis for hospitals. She then joined Meraki, becoming the Marketing Team Manager until the company merged with Cisco. Sarah later moved to Samsara, where she grew with the company for over seven years, eventually becoming the Director of Customer Marketing. Samsara went public in 2021.
Sarah loved the Bay Area, living in San Francisco and finally settling with her loving partner, Ilya Abyzov, in Larkspur, CA. Sarah always found time to travel, visiting 47 countries in her life, including climbing Kilimanjaro.
Everyone knew Sarah by her huge smile and distinctive laugh. Her vibrant spirit, dedication, and love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, adventure, laughter, and achievement.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported Sarah's success in life: her teachers, coaches, troop leader, and the many mentors who guided her along the way.

I worked alongside Sarah at Samsara for 1 year, joining the company in July 2023. Sarah sure did have a wonderful smile and joyful laugh. She was always so kind and welcoming to me, giving me lots of inside tips on life at Samsara. She will be forever missed by everyone that knew her. My heart goes out to all her family and friends during this difficult time. Amy Day XO

I am so terribly saddened and sorry to hear of Sarah´s passing. I had the pleasure of living with Sarah during my first couple of years in San Francisco. While her career was impressive, what I´ll remember her most is our "family dinners" ant the apartment and her goofy laughs. She was thoughtful, caring, and loving. Sending my condolences to her family.

Dear Nancy, King, Clifford and Pete,

I was devastated to see Sarah's obituary in the Sunday paper. I watched her grow up to be a tall, beautiful, smart, caring, accomplished woman. I cannot find any words to describe the deep sorrow I feel at her passing. My thoughts are with you.

With warmest wishes, your old neighbor across the street,
Shirley Beshany
