William McCrossen Obituary

William Morgan McCrossen
William Morgan McCrossen left his earthly body on January 14, 2020.
Bill always had a big laugh, a quick smile and a wry sense of humor. He was born on June 24, 1930 in Bell, California. At the age of 14, he started work for a grocer in Pasadena. One of his duties was to drive to the Los Angeles Farmers Market to buy produce. He had quite a story about testing fermented pineapples. When he was 16, he joined the service and served in Korea as Air Force Air Police.
Upon return, he married Betty Lee Skidmore. In 1964, his work in construction led them to Santa Rosa where they raised their two daughters. Around 1969, Bill began working as a repairman for Hobart Food Machinery. He enjoyed his co-workers and his many relationships at local restaurants and grocery stores throughout northern California. They were married for thirty six years.
After Betty's death, Bill married Dorothy Abbott. They enjoyed eleven years of travel, bridge and dancing together.
Following Dorothy's death, he married Marie Sullivan, his wife of eleven years. They enjoyed trips to the coast, visiting with their families and walking their little dog, Sandy. They were both well-liked by the friendly servers at the Rohnert Park restaurants they frequented.
In 1966, Bill earned his GED and was the first graduate of Piner High School -a year prior to their first official graduating class. Bill enjoyed bowling, reading, house projects, gardening, and crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his precious wife Marie, his daughters Teresa McCrossen and Debbie (Brent) Siemer, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, three nephews and one niece. He was a kind and loving father and deeply loyal and caring husband. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence McCrossen, his mother Esther (Warren) McCrossen, and his two beloved sisters, Margaret Cline and Claire Matthews.

Bill was such a great man. He taught me a lot from a very early age working in the shop and going out on jobs with him. He was one of the hardest working guys I have known. Bill would always stop my grandparents house on weekends while he was out on his walks and visit with my grandpa. Such a happy, friendly guy. After he retired he would come check on us, visit and see what was going on in the shop. I will always remember his laugh.

Hello Friends, Sad to say, the celebration of life for my father, which was to be held on March 22, has been cancelled. I would appreciate reading your memories of my dad. I will pass them on to the family. Best regards, Debbie McCrossen Siemer
