Charles "Chick" was always a child with a smile and a ready hug for family. I wish I had traveled to California just to hug him when I was invited. He made the world sweeter.

Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Cowan. He is our angel. We are forever grateful to him for personally arranging emergency surgery for my gravely ill sister in Feb '08. It was his perseverance that allowed for her immediate transfer to a hospital for a heart valve replacement. The surgery saved her life. Dr. Cowan was the answer to our prayers. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dr. Cowanwas my Cardiologist at Kaiser and I shall truly miss him. He was great Dr. but more that that he was a truly humble man with a wonderful sense of humor; he was also
able to give you straight talk as to your medical condition and needs. He shall be missed , I am Certain, be all who were under his care. At least he and the" love of his life" are together in Gods loving arms.Clarence W. Kirchoff (Riverside, CA.

My deepest sympathies to the family and Dr. Cowan's Kaiser family. I know he will be deeply missed, but he is with God now and in a very peaceful and loving place.
Dr. Cowan implanted my first pacemaker in 2004 and was a comforting person to me when I refused to have something wrong with my heart at a young age. We joked when I woke from surgery about going and getting In-N-Out cheeseburgers. I will never forget Dr. Cowan. I thank God for allowing me to meet him.

Dr. Cowan was my cardiologist at Kaiser. He was a very loving and caring person, more so than the average doctor. My husband and I lost our 8 year old son Ryan many years ago and I shared that with him during one of my visits. I will never forget his reaction..he gave me a really nice hug and said some very comforting things. I saw him as a very loving and compassionate person. I'm so sorry for your loss I know from experience what it feels like to lose someone you love. My heart goes out to your family during this very difficult time. I saw him the Friday before this tragic accident and I wanted to share something he said to my husband and I.. I asked him if there is anything special I should be doing for my diet and he said "Don't ask me because if it were up to me I'd prescribe a banana split..we all started laughing" He just had a very cute personality. I will miss our visits! Peace be with you..
