Francis Bushman Obituary

FRANCIS X. BUSHMAN Age 86, born and raised in Riverside, CA for 86 years, passed away July 16, 2008 at Riverside Community Hospital. Francis was born May 8, 1922 in Riverside, CA. He enjoyed teaching, coaching and counseling young people in RUSD and RCC from 1949 until his death. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and earned the rank of Lieutenant Jr. Grade. He obtained his BA at UCSB; MA Education from USC. He was one of the original inductees into Riverside Sports Hall of Fame and the tennis complex at RCC was renamed the Fran Bushman Tennis Complex in his behalf. Francis is survived by his wife, Evelyn Bushman; Riverside; 2 daughters, Barbara Langford and Brandy Haegg (spouse Roger), all of Riverside; 2 sons, Robert Bushman (spouse Linda), Riverside, Bruce Bushman (spouse Julie), Mission Viejo; sister, Dorothy Krause (spouse Jack), Riverside; 5 grandchildren. Memorial Celebration 7/27/08, 4:00pm at Grove Community Church with private burial at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Fran Bushman Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Riverside Community College Foundation, 4800 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506.
