Gregory Smith Obituary

GREGORY NASH SMITH Passed from this life on September 21, 2012 at his residence in San Jacinto, CA. Greg was born on August 25, 1962 in Columbus, OH and has lived in the San Jacinto Valley for the past 8 years. Prior to that, he resided in South Pasadena, CA. Graduating from Tustin High School in 1980, Greg spent most of his working years in the computer industry, an industry he loved. But, the pride and joy of his life, and what he will be remembered most for, is his love for his daughters. Though separated by distance, he was committed to being involved in their lives and he never tired of sharing their adventures and successes with those around him. And Alize, his granddaughter, was the "apple of his eye!" He will also be remembered for his passionate interest in environmental issues, politics, and helping people - it was not uncommon for him to help a local neighbor to a doctor's appointment or other scheduled event or just help them with any computer issues or questions. Greg is survived by wife, Lori Smith; his beloved daughters: Nicole Cherney and Sara Smith; his mother Charlene Smith; his sister; Deni Schulz; his sister & brother-in-law Conni & Biff Walker; his granddaughter Alize Cherney; his sister-in-law Sandy Smith; and many other family members and close friends. Greg was preceded in death by his brother Commander David Smith, Retired USN, and his father Robert Smith. A Celebration of Greg's life will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012, in the Memorial Garden at Garfield Park in South Pasadena, CA, at 2PM. www.hemetvalleymortuary.com (951) 658 - 4433
