Howard Hamilton Obituary

HOWARD JAMES HAMILTON III The world fondly remembers a great father, husband, son, and family man. Howard James Hamilton III, of Temecula, CA, left this Earth on the morning of April 19, 2012. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home from an aortic aneurysm at the age of 58. Howard was born in Lynwood, CA to parents Betty Ann Hamilton, 90, of Temecula, and Howard James Hamilton Jr., who preceded him in death. Howard is survived by many relatives and close friends. Howard grew up in South Gate and attended Warren High School '71, with his future wife. He met Kathy on March 12, 1974, fell in love, and were engaged on May 9, 1974. They began an almost 35 year marriage of love and joy on July 9, 1977. Howard and Kathy raised two loving sons, Andrew, 30, of Temecula, and David, 28, of Fenton, MI. Howard selflessly provided for his family as a loyal, 36-year veteran at Pepsi-Cola. He is remembered by his co-workers as a tireless worker and role-model. Outside of work, Howard loved spending time with his children and working with young people. He relished the time he was active in local Boy Scout Troop 201 and the Order of the Arrow. Howard also loved to spend his weekends working with youth as a soccer referee throughout Riverside and San Diego county. An avid deep-sea fisherman, Howard was rejuvenated by the friendship and fellowship in fishing for Tuna. Howard will be returned to the sea once again to find that 300 pound tuna that he always wanted. A celebration of Howard's life will take place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 28 at the Temeku Hills Golf and Country Club, 41687 Temeku Drive, Temecula. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Howard's name to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and/or The National MPS Society, or a favorite charity of the donor's choice. All are encouraged to come and celebrate the man with the warm, rosy-cheeked smile, that would greet any friend, family, or stranger. Howard has gone fishin'.

50+ yrs ago Howard and I met at work in a small store, but he included me on some family trips, and also to his hockey outings. We went to some Kings games together, always the gentleman, always friendly... I should have kept correspondence, but ...it is tragic that he's gone so soon... The world needs a lot more like him.

I turned his frown upside down when I handed him my pole after a tuna inhaled the fresh sardine I tossed off the bow. As Howard was bummed that he hadn´t caught one over 200lbs he relinquished his pride and I handed him my pole+let go and I watched him fight the 276# YFT + we took this photo together sharing a bond made for life connected by long range fishing

Kathie, I remember the first time Mary introduced me to you and Howard. You were both very friendly to me. I always admired how both of you supported your little sister. Every occasion I saw you two, happiness abounded. May your memories bring you the happiness you shared until God calls you to be reunited with Howard!
