Justin Palmer Obituary

12/1/1975 - 12/17/2021 Justin Wynd Palmer, 46, of Ontario, CA, was injured in a motorcycle accident as he was driving to Los Amigos, his elementary school on the morning of December 17, 2021. He succumbed to his injuries later that morning at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. Justin graduated from Redlands High School in 1994 and went on to receive his BA at UCSB, he credentialed at UCSM and received his MA from La Verne University. Justin's passion for teaching came from his summers spent as a Juvenile Diabetic beginning at the age of 7 at Camp Chinook, eventually becoming a camp counselor and volunteering into adulthood. He knew he wanted to make a difference in children's lives and was guided by his step-grandmother Vaughn Albrecht, in the San Diego School District, who became his mentor. Justin loved traveling, music, art, sports, hiking and mostly his dog Chamberlain, who he referred to as his support dog. His Redland's 'brothers' meant the world to him growing up and celebrating any and every event they could possibly celebrate. For many years, Justin could be found playing conga drums and singing at the El Mexicano Cafe in Forest Falls on Friday nights with his father Terry Palmer and sometimes joined by his sister Cara Pouliot. Justin taught at several elementary schools in San Bernardino and LA Counties for almost 20 years, grades ranged from 2nd to 6th but he said he finally found a home with his 4th graders at Los Amigos Elementary. They will miss his dancing, singing and hugs. Justin is survived by his father, Terry Palmer, mother Pam Albrecht, step father Edward Albrecht, sister Cara Pouliot, niece Mackenna Pouliot and nephew Hayden Pouliot, as well as numberous aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a "Celebration of Life" at Mountain Meadows Golf Course Event Center on March 15th at 4:30pm. Justin's family asks anyone wanting to donate to please just plant a tree or two in his honor. He would like that very much!

Justin, one of my regrets is not being able to live near you as you grew into an extraordinary, amazing human being. I know you got many of your wonderful attributes from your mom Pam, my cousin. I know you have left your encouragement and memories with many many of your students. They have all been enriched for having you as their teacher. I so wish I were able to meet you and spend some time with you and your mom. When you lose a son you never lose his spirit. Yours is living on with your family friends and students. Your cousin, Jim

I met Justin through my daughter, Coleen Martinez, who had the privilege of teaching with him at Foothill Country Day. He was truly an exceptional person and a unique individual. He made the world a better place.

Mr. Palmer was my first grade teacher when I was online on the pandemic. He was silly and kind the best teacher ever. When it was Christmas he came to our house and gave us a homemade card and a gift he was the best artist. He was writing a book I always asked him how his book was doing. I´m very sad I never met him in real life only in online school. He always called me his buddy and he loved his dog Chamberlin very much I hope he´s not sad. I will miss him forever.
