Indelible memories of happy times spent on the athletic fields at Chemawa Middle School remain steadfast in my heart. What an honor to have shared a coaching partnership with this magnificent gentleman. Love you, Mac! Happy thoughts are coming your way too, John and Nancy.

I just learned of Mac's passing. I first met Coach McCarver in 1960 as a 7th grader. I was very lucky that he also coached several of my older brothers so I had an in with the coach. He and I became friends so to speak. I would often hang out after school chatting with the coaches in the coaches office until they kicked me out. Around the 9th grade I would hang out with the coach and caddy for him while he hit golf balls in the sports fields behind the gymnasium. The coach would give me a ride home on those days. Once I left my Frech II book in his office and had to come get me to retreive the book to do my homework. Coach truely was a legend, he was our John Wooden, or better said, John Wooden was UCLA's Morris McCarver. I am sorry that I lost track of the coach, since the last time I visited him at Chemawa while I was at RCC. I moved to the SF bay area inthe mid 70's, became a lawyer and now have my own family. Good bye Mac. Frank Robles - Oakland, CA

I first met Coach in 1958 when Chemawa was a 3yr Jr. High school. He was John Wayne before there was a John Wayne. The first time I thought about playing sports was in his PE class. He always took time with the best and worst students. A great gentleman and hopefully I can call him my freind.

Heaven welcomed a WINNER on February 5, 2011. Coach Morris McCarver was a legendary figure during his 33 years of coaching service at Chemawa Junior High School. His decency, kindness and affection for his students inspired love and respect not only from those that he taught, but from those coaches who were fortunate enough to have worked with him. He was a Giant in the field of Physical Education for years at Chemawa. Thousands will still remember the many happy times spent on the athletic field at Chemawa with Coach McCarver. May God bless him!
