ROBERT L. EICHOLTZ February 4, 1929 - November 16, 2015 Robert "Bob" Eicholtz, resident of Sun Lakes Country Club since 1986, passed November 16, 2015 at age 86. Bob enjoyed a distinguished career as a teacher and high school principal in Whittier, CA, including receiving a visit from President Reagan at Pioneer High School in 1983 to personally present the school with an Excellence in Education award (Bob was subsequently acknowledged in a Rose Garden ceremony at the White House). Upon retirement, Bob and his wife Beverly (recently deceased), moved to Sun Lakes, making many friends and engaging in numerous activities, clubs and RV excursions. Bob's passions were people, hiking, fishing and golf. Bob was admired by all who were blessed to have known him. As summed up by teacher Glenda Hilliard, "Success is not monetary acquisition; it is moral leadership and character, dedication and commitment to excellence and humanity. Robert Eicholtz has the spiritual creativity to dream and the courage to follow it to its conclusion. I speak on behalf of many teachers and students who would not have made it without this great man." Bob is survived by four children and three grandchildren. A celebration of life luncheon will be held Sunday, noon, January 17, 2016, in the Sun Lakes ballroom. All friends are welcome.
