Thomas Opitz Obituary

THOMAS EDWARD OPITZ Thomas Edward Opitz, 90, long time resident of Corona, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2012. He was born November 21, 1922 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, son of Raymond J. and Susan (Singer) Opitz . Thomas served his country proudly in WWII in the United States Army/Air Corp from 1944-1946; where he received several medals of honor. Thomas worked as a self employed Contractor and Interior Designer/Artist of restaurants; he built, designed and painted over 400. He was a member of the Navy League, the Elks and the Confederate Air Force. Surviving are Sons, Craig,Thomas, Mark Opitz; Daughter, Christal Trusty; 11 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren. There will be a viewing held at Thomas Miller Mortuary on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM with the Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 AM; Pastor Jeff Lasseigne will be officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest with his wife of 58 years Ruth Opitz, at the Riverside National Cemetery Staging Area # 5. To sign the online guest book, go to www.ThomasMillerMortuary.com.

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Mr. Opitz. His son Craig and I were friends in school. Craig, I am sorry for the loss of your Dad. May he rest in peace.
