DR. WILBERT GONZÁLEZ-ANGULO
Dr. Wilbert González-Ángulo died peacefully at home on February 6, 2018 after a long illness. Don Wilbert was born November 13, 1943 in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. He emigrated from his childhood home in Cozumel, Mexico by way of Tecate to Riverside, California to study medicine at the age of 15. He graduated pre-med from La Sierra College in 1963 and then from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1967. He married his wife of 49 years, JoAnn Gonzalez, in 1969. Dr. Gonzalez was the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverside General Hospital and a Professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine for more than three decades. He was a beloved teacher, doctor, mentor, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He delivered thousands of babies and trained hundreds of nurses and doctors, many of whom were inspired by him as an exemplary physician and man. He is survived by his wife JoAnn; his three sons Stephen, Marc, and Michael; his four grandchildren Cecilia, Elena, Pieter, and Daniel, and his siblings Beatriz, Juan and Raul. Funeral services will be held at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Riverside, CA on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2pm. He was a role model and one of the best teachers I have known. He could give an entire lecture on obstetrics, on an 8 x 11 sheet of paper in the office in between patients, all of it, high yield information, and it made sense! He had a kind and gentle spirit, and truly cared about our success. I have so much respect and admiration for him, and I am grateful he made a difference in my life as one of my teachers at LLUSOM. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his family.

Dr. Wilbert Gonalez-Angulo was not only an exemplary physician, but also an excellent mentor, teacher; a doctor who was not only well read, but kind, caring and with a gentle heart to all who worked with him and especially his patients. I worked with him at General Hospital from going to delivers as NICU nurse to working in OB clinic. He personally took me under his wing to help me learn more regarding OB & OB Clinic.
I got to know him on a personal level when our children were in high school. He was especially concerned when he learned his son wanted to date my youngest daughter. He was so caring, more about my daughter's welfare, and would ask me constantly if his son was cordial and proper.
Dr. Gonzalez was a man of what I've read in a book titled:"A Man of Steel & Velvet" Condolence to the family. Carmela Duran

Dr. Gonzalez was the most humble kind human being anybody could have met. I was his nurse 2000 to 2004 in Ob/Gyn Clinic. He was like a father to me at the time. He was always laughing with the doctors and the residents. I never seen him mad. A bit frustrated at times but never mad. I will always remember his contagious laugh. I will remember all the good times we all had working at Loma Linda Ob/Gyn. Our condolences to Mrs. JoAnn, his son's and the rest of his family. May you find peace. Thank you for sharing him with us and Thank you for letting my co-workers and I attend his service today. God bless
