Daniel Caprara Obituary

Caprara, Daniel C., - In Loving Memory of Daniel C. Caprara

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel C. Caprara, affectionately known as Danny, Daddy, PopPop, and Harry Schwartz, at the age of 92. Born on November 14, 1931, in South Philly on South Delhi Street, Danny was a man of remarkable spirit and joy, whose life was filled with the love of his family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents, Anna and Charlie Caprara, and his sister Rosemarie, as well as his first wife, Kay (O'Donnell) Caprara, Danny's legacy of love and laughter lives on through his beloved wife, Pamela Gray, and his cherished daughters, Rosemarie Lesser (Maurice) and Kathy Droboniku (Nick).

Danny took immense pride in his role as PopPop to Kyle Daniel Warren (Samantha), Robert Michael Warren, Megan Rose Willett (Christopher), Joshua Nathan Lesser (Holly), Stephanie Nicole McFadden (Patrick), and Nicholas Anastas Droboniku Jr. (Lauren). He was also a delighted Great-PopPop to Katie Elizabeth Remley, Ryder James Willett, Callie Ann Beahon, Reese Rose Willett, Hazel Christine Lesser, Jayde Nora Lesser, and Baby Boy McFadden. In addition to his immediate family, Danny is survived by Pamela's children: Claire Bedding, Vincent and his family, and Steuart Gray (Courtney), along with their children Owen and Hudson. His warmth, wisdom, and infectious smile enriched the lives of everyone he met.

Danny was an altar boy at St. Paul's RC Church in South Philly and a proud graduate of West Catholic High School. He had the soul of an entertainer, singing all around Philly & Jersey in his younger years as well as to his daughters and all of his grandchildren. Throughout his varied career paths, Danny formed enduring friendships and was universally loved for his kindness and generosity. Above all, Danny cherished time spent with family for any and all occasions. PopPop had a love of storytelling will live on through his grandkids and great grandkids. His legacy of love, family unity, and joyous celebration will forever be remembered and missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. It was always coffee time at 3 o'clock and Danny never bought green bananas because you never knew when it was your time.

The family will be holding a service to celebrate Danny's life on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, 228 Infield Ave., Northfield, NJ 08225. A viewing will be held at Jeffries and Keates from 10 a.m. until time of service. Final commendation and farewell will be at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery.
