David McGuinn Obituary
McGuinn, David Warren 42 - a navitve son of Atlantic City, New Jersey, has fallen in the line of duty and departed this life at age forty-two on Tuesday, July 25, 2006. He was born to Janice E. McGuinn and the late Joseph B. McGuinn II.
David attended Atlantic City Schools. He was employed by AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center as a Security Manager. He further serviced his community as a Life Support Instructor and worked in Atlantic County as a Certified Emergency Medical Technician. David was a member of the F.O.P. Lodge #104 out of the 177th Security Forces Squadron of Atlantic City since 1994. David re-located to the State of Maryland were he served as a Maryland State Correctional Officer for the Maryland State of Corrections.
David's source of inspiration came from his grandfather, the late George Savage, a former Officer of the Atlantic City Police Department, his great, great, great grandfather Josiah Henson, narrator of the story told to Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin, and his cousin Matthew Henson, co-discoverer of the North Pole, all three of these men were Master Masons. His great uncle Warner T. McGuinn, graduate of Yale Law School and mentor to Thurgood Marshall and great uncle Dr. William Moncure Alexander the first editor of the Afro-American Ledger.
David is survived by: his daughter, Shayna; son, Zacary; mother, Janice E. McGuinn; sisters, Loretta J. Whitland and Crystal R. McGuinn-D'Amore; brothers, Joseph B. McGuinn III, Michael A. McGuinn, and Victor T. McGuinn; nieces, Charm N. Handy, Brandy McGuinn-Perry, Valina Christina McGuinn, Tiffany McGuinn and Sherry McGuinn; nephews, Clifton R. Handy and Nicholas B. V. D'Amore, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Along with the men and women of the Baltimore, Maryland State Police and Police Department, Baltimore, Maryland Department of Corrections, New Jersey State Police Department, Atlantic City Police Department, Mays Landing Sheriffs Department, Pleasantville Police Department, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center and Gregory's Resturant of Somers Point, New Jersey.
