Deborah Pecikonis Obituary

PECIKONIS, DEBORAH ANN 53 - of Mays Landing, beloved wife of Francis Xavier passed away at home on Monday, February 11, 2008. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 30th, 1954 to the late Catherine and Salvatore Bilotti, Deborah was one of eight children. She distinguished herself very early on as a young bride. Working side by side, with her husband, Francis, in their very popular Delicatessen/ Convenience Store which was located in Philadelphia, PA. She displayed her creative skills by helping expand the business into a successful catering service. As the family grew, pets included, she moved to the New Jersey Shore. Her talent, sewing and design, led to many Easter "first place ribbons" on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. She created many hand made gowns and wardrobe for various conants involved in The Miss America Pageant System. She was a devoted animal lover, and donated generously to the A.S.P.C.A. Deborah was a compassionate woman. She rescued and found home placement for many stray and unwanted animals. Anyone who was welcomed to her home at Christmas, was amazed, for none could make the season look more beautiful. With the four children grown, Deborah traveled extensively with her husband, Francis. It is unimaginable that one will exist without the other. The long dark hair, striking brown eyes, and the totally disarming smile, she had style and looks not easily forgotten. She is survived by daughter, Paula Paretti and husband Jeffrey; son, Francis X. Jr; daughter, Samantha; and son, Damian; grandchildren, Tevya, Anthony and Tiffany, and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Assumption Church in Pomona. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A Christian Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Deborah's name to The Assumption Church in Pomona. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wimberg Funeral Home of Egg Harbor City and Galloway Township, 609-965-0357. Directions and/or condolences, please visit: www.wimbergfuneralhome.com

Dear Debbie,
It is so hard to believe another year has gone by without you. What a year 2020 was, I am sure the angels have you very busy, helping out; since so many people here on this earth are just in bad shape. I see you often in your powder blue dress and your smile, I wish you could be with us again during the Italian Sunday "gravy" nights. We all could use the laughs and the fun!
God bless you Debbie, may you soar with the angels! Say some prayers for us down here xoxo

Debbie, We think and pray for you often. We remember all the good stuff, like how beautiful your family was for all the Easter Parades on the Atlantic City board walk. How much thought you put into giving gifts. You are so missed, but I know, God has you doing some special work, and, most importantly, your handsome son Francis is not alone, he has you. Love, Elizabeth, Robert, Liza, Fran, Roger, Natalie & Hunter xoxox

Dear Debbie and Franny and Family,
All of us have not stopped thinking and praying for you here in Key West.
I think of the days when the whole gang visited us and we LAUGHED so hard. The stories of Damian on the bus. Debbie wearing her beautiful
powder blue outfit to my parent's 40th wedding anniversary party. Also, when Deb got mad at Francis and made him walk Duval Street in the boiling sun and his legs became chapped. You even helped me set up for Robert's 50th party with dice and Italian gangster hats. That's Amore!

For all of these precious moments , I thank you. For all of the hilarious moments in my kitchen with food and lots of coffee, I thank you.
For Debbie being Debbie, we all thank you, you taught us all so much.

I suppose Jesus just needed
someone to help Him decorate and set up for some big Angel party so He called on the best.

We will miss you----always
Love,
Elizabeth, Robert, Courtney & Liza

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
