Edward Ayers Obituary

Ayers, Edward, - 82, of North Cape May, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. Edward was a longtime area resident working for Cape May County for many years, most recently as the Superintendent of Bridges. He served with the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War and the Bay of Pigs Confrontation and loved to play golf and was a member at the Avalon Golf Club. Edward was a local artist and enjoyed painting landscapes and seascapes. Edward is predeceased by his parents Edward and Anna Ayers, sister Claire Koone and brother Robert Ayers. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Frances, son Edward L, daughter Catherine Ayers McHale, grandson Richard W. McHale Jr., and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Edward will be held 11:30am on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, 129 Crest Haven Rd., Cape May Court House. Dear Francis and Ed,and family, I am so sorry about the passing of Ed. I have painting and a Beautiful sleigh he made with my house on Boyd Street.He was a wonderful man. Sorry for your lost.
