Eileen Ward Obituary
A 1974 graduate of Mainland Regional High School, Eileen was an original casino cocktail waitress at Resorts in 1978, lived in California for a number of years in the 1980s and moved back to NJ, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in education and taught English to seventh graders at Jordan Road School in Somers Point. Eileen then obtained her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and became an Assistant Principal at Jordan Road, retiring in 2019. However, Eileen's proudest accomplishment in life was her beautiful daughter, Rachel Slaughter, who taught us all about compassion and living life to the fullest with Down Syndrome.
A Service of Memory and Love will be held on Wednesday, January 10th at 2:30 p.m. with a visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service at The Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ.

While I regret never having met Eileen, I recently visited the home she and Rachel shared. I felt such love and peace, such warmth and tenderness. Every room holds their sweet spirits. I was moved by Rachel´s pictorial story and a family´s abiding love and care...no matter what. I hope to meet you soon, Rachel. You are dearly loved!
