JACOB KURZ Obituary

KURZ, JACOB S. 47 - of Manahawkin died on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. Born in Toms River, he lived in Alaska for 15 years before moving to Manahawkin 25 years ago. Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Kurz was employed by the Stafford Township Department of Public Works. He was a former member of the Stafford Township Fire Department, and was a member of the Bedford, VA Elks. He served in the Army National Guard from 1983 to 1989.He was a member of the Cedar Run Assembly of God Church, Cedar Run, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tina; his mother Janet, his stepfather Bill Kurz of Haines, AK; his sister, Tia Anderson of Bedford, VA; his brothers, Billy Kurz of Orlando, FL and Lt. Col. Karl Kurz, US Army (Ret) of Silver Spring, MD; four nieces, Tiffany Anderson, Kimberly Kurz, Rebecca McArdle, and Meckenzie Kurz; a nephew, Jacob Anderson; and a great-niece Alyssa Gladfelter. The Family will receive visitors July 17, 2013 from 6-7pm at the Cedar Run Assembly of God Church, 562 South Main Street (Route 9), Cedar Run, NJ. A Service celebrating Jacob's life will be held at 7pm at the church. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the Kurz family requests donations be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.
