Joseph Jarock Obituary

JAROCK, JOSEPH, 80 - of Winslow, lifelong resident of Winslow, passed quietly into eternal rest Thursday, June 8. He met his final challenge in typical fashion, head-on & with valor, looking it in the eye. It ravaged his body but never his spirit. A complex man of courage & passion, he could hate fiercely and he would love devotedly! To know him meant you understood him; when you understood him, you were able to love and appreciate him. He was loyal to those he loved, even in conflict. That he was able for 30 years to rise above the cruelty of his illness, is a ament to the power of good diet, herbs, and bodybuilding as a way of life. Thanks Dad, for your example. Survived by his two special ladies- Helen Vile of Winslow and his daughter, Marge Eveland of Toano, VA; grandsons, Eric Joseph, Adam Joseph; granddaughter, Victoria Fearing; great granddaughter, "Oliva". He also cherished Helen's granddaughter, Ashley Love & grandson, Jacob Love, children of John & Nicole Love. A dedicated 54 year member of Pipefitters Local Union 322, "Best of The Best," but little known is that he served honorably during WW II as a Merchant Seaman for Sun Oil in support of U.S. Naval forces. Former President Franklin D. Roosevelt once stated, "(Mariner) have written one of its most brilliant chapters. They have delivered the goods when and where needed in every theater of operation and across every ocean in the biggest, the most difficult and dangerous job ever undertaken..." Viewing today from 6-8 p.m. at Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Winslow Methodist Cemetery.
