Letitia Joanne "Joan" Townsend

1930 - 2021

Townsend, Letitia Joanne "Joan" (Donohue), - 90, of Ocean City, passed January 25, 2021. Joanie was born August 20, 1930 in Chester Pennsylvania. She graduated from Notre Dame Girls High School Moylan June 12th, 1949. Joan lived in Delaware County for many years before moving to Ocean City, NJ in 1972 for the remainder of her days here on earth. Joan worked at Hogates in Ocean City and opened Resorts in Atlantic City and the original Golden Nugget location in Atlantic City. She last worked at the Golden Galleon miniature golf on the Ocean City boardwalk as the " Golf Pro" Joan is proceed in death by her husband Richard Q. Townsend, Son Joseph (Jay) Townsend, Grandson Jacob Townsend, and Great Grandson Ezra Ramierez. She is survived by Daughter Tish Turbe, Joanne Stainthrope and stepdaughter Sandi Ross, and Daughter in Law Kim Townsend Son in Law Richard Ross, and Sister Victoria Welch. 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Family will have a service in the Summer of 2021 Joan's favorite season.
