Peter Genuardi Obituary

Genuardi, Peter (Pete) Alfonsus, - 76, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away on Monday, June 27th, 2022 after a brief illness. He is predeceased by his mother Anne Marino Genuardi, his father Peter Genuardi, his sisters Bernadette Genuardi, Immaculatta Genuardi, Antoinette Marr, and his nephew, Joseph Genuardi. Pete is survived by his wife Maureen Genuardi, sister Anna Marie Childress, brother Joseph Genuardi, son Peter Genuardi, daughter Laura Genuardi Anderson, son-in-law Tj Anderson, his son's partner Kelly Baden, and his grandchildren Evie, Ava, and Jaxon. Ever the Lord's humble servant, Pete grew up attending Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Norristown, PA and was an active member of St. Theresa's Parish in Tuckerton, NJ for much of his life. He enjoyed spending time in nature and taking photos of flora, fauna, and his family. Pete was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest in 1972 at St. Charles Borromeo seminary. After he was laicized, he received his Masters in Counseling from Shippensburg University. For over fifty years Pete's career centered on serving those less fortunate than himself - striving to make the world more compassionate - including senior citizens, people with disabilities, and the homeless. For more than twenty five years, Pete improved the lives and dignity of people living with mental illness, running the "First Day" program at Family Services of Atlantic County, NJ. Pete loved his family and was a terrific husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend to so many. His memory will be held by all who met him. He is survived by many friends and family, whom he loved dearly. Family and friends are invited to Pete's Life Celebration on Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 at St. Jerome's Church, 8100 Colfax St # 1, Philadelphia, PA 19136, from 10 â€" 11 AM. A funeral mass will follow at 11AM. Family serviced by John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Communities of Don Guanella and Divine Providence, who took loving care of his sister Bernadette.
