Rose was a graduate of Pomona Elementary School and Egg Harbor High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper in her father's business, Guenther's Appliance Store and later worked as a bookkeeper for Schairer Brother Sawmill, the family business. Rose was a fixture at the mill and later became a partner in that business.
