Alvin Cohen Obituary
Petersburg - Dr. Alvin Cohen, 94, of Petersburg passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Dr. Cohen was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Herman Cohen and his sister Joyce Bates. Dr. Cohen's medical career spanned over 40 years of private practice. During those years he served as a two time Chief of Staff and as the Director of the ICU at Southside Regional Medical Center where he also started the Nuclear Medicine Department. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara Ann Cohen; children, Carol Robin Cohen, Michael Robert Cohen, Jeryl Susan Cohen and Barry Alan Cohen and his wife, Joy; grandchildren, Abby Brooke Cohen and Macey Beth Cohen. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
