AMY KIDD Obituary

Amy Leigh (Phillips) Kidd of Colonial Heights, 48, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, January 3, 2019. She was born in Petersburg on December 30, 1970. Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edward H. Lewis Sr. and Irma Pollock Lewis of Disputanta; and her paternal grandparents, Irvin L. Phillips Sr. and Elizabeth Council Phillips of Waverly. Amy graduated from Tidewater Academy and VCU with a BS degree in Business Administration. She was employed by Ukrop's and Martins Grocery Stores as a Human Resources Manager.
Married to John Fielding Kidd with two sons, Philip Grayfield Kidd and Logan Thomas Kidd. She is survived by her parents, Irvin L. Phillips Jr. and Dorothy Lewis Phillips of Colonial Heights; a brother, Michael Allan Phillips (Gina); a niece, Sarah Caitlin Phillips; and a nephew, Matthew Allan Phillips all of Williamsburg; an aunt, Marylin Lewis Long (Sam) of Richmond; and numerous cousins. Amy leaves behind her pet dog Gracie who was a constant comfort to her.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
She is remembered by family and friends for her dedication to her family and willingness to do for others.
