Arrow Thweatt Obituary
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy. L. Thweatt and Julia T. Bowman; sister, Isophine T. Crawford; brothers, George, Earl, Albert, Herbert, David and Roy.
Mr. Thweatt was a member of Union Branch Baptist Church, Prince George, Va. He was a self-employed businessman and retired from Virginia Department of Transportation after seven years of service.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife of 62 years, Claudia Lanier Thweatt; two daughters, Kimberly T. Bland (Marshall) and Natalie T. Bradford; four sons, Arrow Thweatt Jr. (Meeta) of Potomac, Md., Bryant S. Thweatt, Wayne Thweatt (Patricia), Roy A. Thweatt; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alvenia Ford (William), Florence Randall, Grover Randall; one brother, Timothy Thweatt (Dorothy); sisters-in-law, Corine Thweatt, Bernice Thweatt, Margie Thweatt, Clara L. Thweatt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Union Branch Baptist Church in Prince George, Va., on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. and the eulogy will be done by Dr. Andrew J. White. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. Remains will lie at state at the church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Va. Remains rest at Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va. A.A. Tucker, funeral director.
