Benjamin Skroback Obituary

Benjamin Sylvester Skroback Sr., 85, of Hopewell, Va., died Friday, Oct. 23 2009, in Brighter Living Assisted Care. Mr. Skroback was born in Emporia, Va., and had been a life long resident of the Hopewell/Prince George area. He was the son of the late Paul and Julia Matcheka Skroback. Mr. Skroback served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, the Lutheran Church of our Redeemer and a retired pipefitter from Allied Signal/Honeywell Corporation.

Mr. Skroback is survived by his wife, Mildred Temple Skroback of Hopewell; a son, Benjamin S. Skroback Jr. of Chester, Va.; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Skroback of Hopewell; a granddaughter, Desiree Ann Wolff of Maitland, Fla.; a brother, Stephen Skroback of Alexandria, Ind.; and a sister, Elizabeth S. Chovan of Springfield, Ohio.

Funeral services will be private. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of our Redeemer, 1769 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA, 23803. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com.
