CATHERINE FREEMAN Obituary
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine May; father, Landon Tucker, Sr.; adopted parents, Erma Tucker Parham and James "Buster" Parham; and sister, Pearl May.
She was involved in several ministries of LBBC, to include the ushers, missionaries, greeter and was very dedicated to each one especially the usher ministry.
Pattie retired from Central State Hospital after several years of faithful and dedicated service. Later she served as a personal caregiver to many clients in her community. Pattie was a caring, loving person with a heart filled with love, kindness and helpfulness.
She is survived by one son, Jerome Parham; one grandchild, JaRod Quinton Johnson; one great-grandchild, Lalita Chantise; an adopted daughter, Laura Powell; a special adopted sister, Sheila Streat (William); brothers, Dennis May (Ninnie), Landon Tucker (Annie) of Stony Creek, Cleveland Tucker (Ernestine) of Dinwiddie, Walter Tucker (Martha) of Petersburg; sisters, Lucille Hall (Bobbie) of Carson, Ruby Wilson (late Emmanuel) of Baltimore, Rosetta Martin (John) and Evelyn May; devoted nieces, Amari, Jakayla, Lekisha and Natarsha Streat; devoted nephew, Takari Streat; devoted cousins, James Pegram and Cat Poarch; devoted friends, Stephanie Yates, Angie Parham, Clarence Skipper; and all of her Little Bethel Church family and community friends to numerous to name, many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held 11 am Friday, October 26, 2018, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 23503 Flatfoot Road, Stony Creek, VA 23882. A public viewing will be 10 am to 8 pm Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the Petersburg-Chapel Joseph M. Johnson & Son Funeral Home, 530 S. Sycamore Street, Petersburg, VA (804)863-4411.

Patty will always have a special place in our hearts. She was my first employee when I opened my business 11 years ago. She was Miyah's first babysitter. Patty was a caregiver for both of my grandmothers. So many precious memories! RIP.

I had the pleasure of working with Ms Freeman many years at Southside Virginia Training Center. We shared many talks and so many good times. She was a kind and caring person who always wore a smile and would make a bad day a good day.Always had time to stop and joke with her employees, A great supervisor!I have thought of her so many times over the years and even tried to find out where she lived. I know now that she is in the arms of the Lord.To her family and devote friends: May all the wonderful memories you have of her bring you peace and comfort now and in the days to come. I too am blessed to have known such a wonderful person!!! Jerome may the wonderful life your mom lead bring you comfort as you morn your loss, she loved and talked about you all the time!
