I worked with Dan for many years at Philip Morris, at that time our group was like family. Dan always had a smile and a joke. I knew Dan was ill however, his death came as a shock. I loved his wit and his knowledge of music. He will be truly missed.
Linda, you have my deepest sympathy, I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Dan and I grew up together in Chicago. We attended Mark Twain grammer school and Kelly high school. We had a lot of fun doing the things that kids do. Sadly to say, after high school, we went on our own separate ways, as people often do. I just recently remet him through Classmates.com and through another mutual friend, Wayne Luznicki. I knew Dam was sick, but not as sick he obviously was. My wife and I will miss his witty humor and the numerous politically skewed emails. Our thoughts are with his family in their time of grief. I lost a father and a brother last years and know that time heals the pain, but you'll always remember the good times and the smile on their faces. Gog bless Dan and his family.

I was saddened when I got word of Dan passing. I will certainly miss him and the almost every day conversations him and I shared. Dan and I could always find something to talk about even if we didn't always agree on the subject matter. I also enjoyed working with Dan for most of the three years that he was with the Sheriff's Office and that was when we became good friends.Dan and I had somewhat of a special bond between us and because of that reason, it is going to be hard for me not to pick up the phone and call him anymore. I'm so use to calling him one,two and sometimes three times a day and he would call me and we would laugh and talk until he got tired and had to hang up. I'm truly going to miss those days.our prayers are with Dan and his family and he will always be in our thoughts. be strong Linda and know that he is in a better place now, the pain and suffering is all over and he is at peace. God bless the Lave family and friends. Howard & Carla Bradley.

I was very sorry to hear of Dan's passing. I worked with Dan for many years and since retirement have received many emails from him. He was the kind of guy who really enjoyed a good joke. I will keep Dan and his family in my prayers.

My deepest love and appreciation for my "baby brother's" life here on earth. He has taught me so much about perseverance, dedication, loyalty, and familial love. I have loved him always, and always will. I will remember always his part in my life. His humor was at the tip of his tongue to brighten our days, his ability to communicate, his interest in life and his world, and his goodwill to all. A man of family, home and country, always. His accomplishments in life are for the most part unknown, but experiencing his beginnings and his hardships from early on, depict the drive and determination to rise above them. He chose a good and loving life with his dear Linda. God bless my little brother who has "gone home", and our dear Linda for her untiring, loving support and help especially during his last and hardest times. Jeanette (Jan) Snead (Petersburg, VA)
