Donald Lewis Obituary
He was the son of the late Russell Dane Lewis and Evelyn Lamm Lewis Sudsbury, and was preceded in death by a brother, Warren L. Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria C. Lewis; five children, Donna Gene Gravely and husband, Doug, of Chester, Shelley Lewis Bowles and husband, Chris, of Church Road, Donald Dane Lewis II and fiancée, Kari, of Church Road, Cindy E. Coleman and husband, David, of Church Road, and Lindy E. Schmucker and husband, John, of Rice; two brothers, Irvin C. Lewis and John L Lewis Sr., both of Church Road; one sister, Charlotte Lewis Miller of Suffolk; a stepfather, Richard Sudsbury of Petersburg; eight grandchildren, Larry and Jessica Gravely, Kendall and David Coleman Jr. Meagan, Emily, Lindsey and Peyton Bowles; one aunt; two uncles; numerous nieces and nephews; a very special friend, "Lewis."
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Poole Christian Church with the Rev. Joyce Harville officiating. Interment Mizpah Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Poole Christian Church, 7521 Trinity Church Road, Church Road, VA 23833. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
