Emily Byrum Obituary
Brooke was an employee of Ukrop's Supermarkets, Inc. She is survived by her mother Jennifer Melton Byrum of Colonial Heights; sister, Jessica Morgan Byrum and boyfriend, Nicholas Pallotta; significant other, Mark A. Nance Jr. of McKenney; maternal grandparents, Jessie D. and Nancy A. Melton of Creswell, N.C.; maternal great-grandmother, Annie H. Melton of Rocky Mount, N.C.; paternal grandparents, Percy E. and Margie Byrum of Carson; aunt, Mary McCurry and husband Doug; uncles, Jesse D. Melton Jr. and Chris Melton; numerous great-aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Kim and Mark Nance, Sr. and family.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Rev. Phillip Harris officiating. Interment private.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dinwiddie Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 121 Dinwiddie, VA 23841 or The Virginia State Police, Med-Flight, 7411 Airfield Drive, Richmond, VA 23237-2250. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

It hit me so hard when I got the news about Brookey, she was my baby that i took care of from the time she was 6 weeks til the third grade, when i came to see her I couldnt stay then I saw you and it just crushed my heart because you was like family to me, Brook will always be my baby and I am so sorry about her accident. I was so sorry to hear of Brooke's accident. I taught Brooke, Morgan, and Mark(if he's from C.H.) in second grade at Lakeview. Brooke was always a little girl with a big smile and she looked so cute in her little plaid dress in our second grade class picture. My thoughts are with you and your family.
