FLORINE BROWN

1936 - 2018

Miss Florine Brown of 404 St. Matthew Street, Petersburg, Virginia peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Virginia. She was born on November 26, 1936, to Esther and Arby Brown. Florine joined Good Shepherd Baptist Church at an early age where she sang in the Carter Memorial Choir.
Florine was a faithful Redskins fan and she liked spending time on Sunday watching the game with her late son Ramon and family. Florine enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved, and they loved her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ramon L. Brown; parents, Arby and Esther Brown; three sisters, Isaphine Smith, Florence Brown and Eloise Wade; and three brothers, Sherman Brown, Charles Brown and Raymond Thweatt.
Florine leaves to cherish her memory: two sons, Pastor Barry O. Brown, Sr. (Avis) of North Chesterfield, VA, and Reginald D. Brown (Tracy) of Petersburg, VA; three daughters, Joyce L. Brown and Patrice M. Allen, both of Petersburg, VA, and Sheryl E. Adams (Lorenzo) of Chester, VA; ten grandchildren, Elana McLean of Lawrenceville, GA, Aubrey Brown, Barry Brown, Jr., Kiara Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Deaisha Johnson, and Destini Brown, all of Petersburg, VA, Jasmine Adams of Chester, VA, Reginald Washington of NC, Dyamond Brown of MD; seven great-grandchildren, Kobe Singleton, Kamari Williams, Kasey Johnson, Brycen White, all of Petersburg, VA, Ethan McLean of Lawrenceville, GA, Sy'ana Washington, and Sy'ier Washington, both of NC; two sisters, Rosa Lee Williams and Christine Parson, both of Petersburg, VA; three brothers, Robert Brown (Yvonne), Arby Brown, Jr., and John Henry Brown. all of Petersburg, VA; sister-in-law, Janet Brown; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and several devoted friends and families just to name a few; Gloria Parham and family, Deloris Young, Nazerine Jones, Cynthia Lee, Crystal Hines, Willie Mae Bailey, Dorothy Jackson, Dorothy Brown, Loraine Taylor and the Byrd, Goode, Ruffin, Ford, Johnson, and Coles Families.
The family also would like to thank Dr. Fred and Mark Ende, Dr. Vijaya and Associates, Liberty Dialysis, Southside Regional Inpatient Dialysis and Dr. Agyeman.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 17, 2018, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Jeffrey L. Reaves, Sr., Pastor, eulogist. Interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
A wake service will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2018, at the funeral establishment.
The family will assemble 10:00 A.M. the day of the service at 404 St. Matthew Street, Petersburg, VA, and will also receive friends at 931 Valley Drive, Petersburg, VA.
