GEORGE CARTIN Obituary

George Cary Cartin, Sr., 89, of Hopewell, Va., passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015. Born in South Carolina he was the son of the late Carey J. Cartin and Lillie Aultman Cartin and was preceded in death by his wife, Olive Cartin; daughter, Cheryl Cartin and sister, Louise Oldham. George served his country proudly in the Navy during WWII serving in four major battles and was part of the Blue Raiders Squadron. He retired from Hercules as a supervisor after forty years.

George is survived by his son, George R. Cartin; daughter, Georgina Williams and husband, Dan; grandchildren, George Cary Cartin, II and wife, Elizabeth, Daniel Williams, Charles Cartin, Michael Williams and wife, Courtney; great-grandchildren, George Charles Cartin, and Eden Williams; other extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
