Harriet Jones Obituary

Harriet Lousie Jones, also known as "Auntie" or "Lou," of Hawk Street, Petersburg, Va., went home to Glory Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

She was a resident of Petersburg, and was the daughter of the late Frances Knight-Blaney and George Knight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Jones; brother, Robert Knight; and great-nephew, Roy L. Jones Jr.

She was an active and faithfully member of Third Baptist Church. Harriet retired from Virginia Linen, and was an active member of Club Megation and The Girl Incorporated Social Club.

She leaves to cherish memories a sister-in-law, Paulette Knight; three nieces, Brenda Jones (devoted), Rolette Thweatt (Elliot Jr.) and Stephanie (Bruce); two nephews, Robert Knight Jr. (Edwina) and Phillip Knight Sr.; seven great-nieces and nephews, (devoted) Karesha Jones William (Junie), William III, Alicia Palmer, Elliot III (Sabrina) and Issac Thweatt, Stacy Tyler (Robin), Shay and Phillip Knight Jr.; 12 great-great-nieces and nephews, three devoted, LaKeii, Paqwii and Juniesha Williams, Samoria, Kelani, Jordan, Stacey, Sydney, Sierra, Xavier, Jasmyn and Khiley; and two great-great-great-nephews whom she adored, Samorion Williams and Tre'Jhon Jones; a host of cousins, devoted Johnny Jefferson, other relatives, three devoted, Adlena Poole, Catherine Threatt and Thelma Jefferson.

The funeral service will be held noon Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Third Baptist Church, 550 Farmer St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Leroy A. Cherry, pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
