JAMES REID Obituary

James H. "Jimmy" Reid Sr., 80, of North Dinwiddie, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at his home. He was the son of the late Felix K. and Blanche Payne Reid of Chesapeake. Mr. Reid was a retired special agent with the State Corporation Commission, Motor Carrier Enforcement. He was a proud member of the Lake Drummond Masonic Lodge #178 AF&AM and Prince George Masonic Lodge #115 AF&AM, Richmond Scottish Rite, ACCA Temple and the Virginia Police Association.

Mr. Reid was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna V. Reid, and is survived by his three sons, James H. Reid Jr., Robert J. Reid (Frieda), Michael R. Reid; brothers, Raymond Reid and Gary Reid; sister, Shelby Cahoon; grandchildren Christin Cimburke (Joey), Jake Reid, Haleigh Reid, Matthew Reid and Will Cimburke; numerous nieces, nephews and his beloved dogs, Bruiser, Diamond and Candy.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Va., with the Rev. Carl Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
