May you rest in God's perfect peace, Mrs. Bolte. I remember you from Dinwiddie County Senior High School. Class of 1973. Condolences to your family and friends.

Joy Bolte was one of my very favorite teachers. She was kind, considerate and loving. She always encouraged me to do my best. She was my champion and helped me learn to believe in myself and increase my self esteem. I loved being around her. After high school and throughout college, I would go to visit her whenever I could. Throughout her lifetime, she would send me notes and cards. I love Joy Bolte. She was one of the very best. My prayers are with you all as you rejoice in Joys entry into heaven while having to start a new chapter in your life without her. Blessings to you all. Love, Connie Ferrell Brisendine

Joy Bolte was the teacher that made the difference. Every day she was engaged with each of us. She inspired me and believed in my writing. She motivated me to be more than I ever thought I could. She entered my writing into contests and she was truly proud of my successes. It's been so many years since I have seen her. The exact date was August 30, 1986. She was the mistress of ceremonies at my wedding. She gave my husband and Me our very first Christmas ornament As a married couple 33 years ago. We still hang it on our tree to this day. It is so dear to my heart. I love you Mrs Joy Bolte and I thank you for believing in me as a student and loving me as a person. I have never forgotten you and I never will. My deepest sympathies to your family. Rest well and thank you for caring so very much about me.
