JUNIUS WALKER Obituary
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) of Ford, Va.; two adoring daughters, Vera (Jason) of Prince George, Va., and Clarissa (Joe) of Dinwiddie, Va.; and a son, Derrick of Sweden. Master Trooper Walker also leaves behind a proud mother, Mary Louise Hardy Walker of Lawrenceville, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Junious Walker. He leaves behind seven loving brothers and sisters, Mary Maclin (James) of Rawlings, Va., Elsie LaMoyne Major of Smithfield, Va., Jean Peterson (Floyd) of Norfolk, Va., Robert Lee Hardy (Delores) of Lawrenceville, Va., Randolph Hardy of Lawrenceville, Va., David Walker of Richmond, Va., and Oris P. Walker (Suzie) of Lawrenceville, Va.; also numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and extended family. Master Trooper Walker also leaves behind three young grandchildren whom he adored: Jaylen Michelle, Jackson Walker, and Chloe Elizabeth.
The family also wishes to recognize innumerable friends and the law enforcement community.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from Good Shepherd Baptist Church. There will be a private graveside burial following the service.
Flowers are welcomed, or donations may be made to the Virginia State Police Emergency Fund, 6944 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23225.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Brown's Funeral Service in Lawrenceville, Va.

To the Walker family,
I began driving this stretch of I-85 weekly in October, 2015. I finally looked up the circumstances of the passing of Master Trooper Junius Alvin Walker. I was shocked and amazed at the circumstances of his death. More importantly, I was impressed with the need to provide for people such as myself a means to express condolences to the family and to acknowledge the amazing legacy of this public servant. The legacy of Trooper Walker defines all that is good about this world and all that has gone so terribly wrong because of sin. May God always comfort you and bless you and may the legacy of the life and service of Master Trooper Junius Alvin Walker bring continual glory to His name.

I am so sorry for your loss. I will never forget Trooper Walker. The first time I met him, I was working a fire call and when he walked up I thought he was going to be someone to avoid. He turned out to be a great friend. I enjoyed talking to him and knew he was going to make me laugh when ever he was around. He was an angel here on Earth...and now he is in a much better place watching over Dinwiddie County. He is a true hero. It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

My Prayers are with the family and all of his friends. JA was a great man, I met him several years ago and for 2 or 3 years we spoke nearly every week, I found a friend when JA came to my business to do his job.

I did not know Trooper Walker personally. But my grandfather always spoke good things about him. They both always came in contact with one another during law enforcement training activities. I always had respect for the "blue & gray" that I chose to be a part of law enforcement as well. It has been 16 years since I signed up to serve & protect and I love my job. Trooper Walker, I would like to say "THANKS" for the professionalism that you displayed while carrying out your daily duties. You will be greatly missed. My name is Tony Bowman. Attached is a phot of Junius, me in the middle and Jerry ?. Craig Leaviit, another friend took the photo. We are showing how much time we have left in the Army. It was taken at Patch Barracks in Germany in 1971 or 72.Junius was a very goog friend of mine and a friend to many others. He was a great guy to be around. He liked to do pencil sketches and I still have an eagle he did for me. After trying to locate him for a couple of years after I got out of the Army I sorta gave up but never forgot him. I wonder if the sister still has the stamp collection that I had my Mother mail to her when I was serving with Junius.He was a great guy and even though I have not spoken to him in year he has been often in my thoughts. Now my thoughts are with the family. Junius was a good man and a pleasure to know.
