Louise, Marquette and Peanut, with great sadness we say so long (for now) to our dear friend, Frog. With God’s grace and mercy, WE will see him again in Heaven. While reflecting, for many of the Young Grandchildren, all 2-3 sets on Wilcox street, you have always been family because you have been our neighbor for just that long. I remember as a child when Marquette and Leticia (Tecia) were inseparable as teenagers, and Peanut was and still is our brother. We played with Marquette and Peanut as children, and we are good friends as adults. So, WE are family. We love you all dearly, and we will miss Frog so much. On behalf of the Young and Walston Families, if you need anything, we are only a few steps or a phone call away. Rest in Peace Frog, and God’s unwavering comfort to the family. Love Jamie, Dic, Debbie and Jimmy Walston

Louise, you and Frog and family were our neighbors for many many years. You are wonderful people, wonderful neighbors, and wonderful friends. Frog had the spirit of presence, he was noticed by everyone. He is in the eternal grace of God and will be missed by all who knew him. On behalf of my mother, Mrs. Henrietta, my family and myself, allow God's peace to take the lead role in your life now and for as long as you need it.

Half of my memories of visiting Aunt Louise's house every summer in Petersburg, include seeing one of my favorite people in the world greet me at the door; my 'Unka' Lee Roy. Not 'uncle' - like we say up north, but lovingly...'Unka'

Cigar hanging from his lips, I believe a gold tooth or two, the biggest, most handsome smile spread across his face and an Orkin can in his hand, he always made me feel as if I belonged in his home. To a motherless child, that meant everything.

Yes, like all of my cousins I was scared of breaking anything in that house, because between him and Aunt Louise you knew very well you needed to run around the corner to granny's house on West Street to hide if you did - unless you were Peanut who got away with EVERYTHING.

I know that I am not the only one who remembers that clear roach plaque he kept sitting on top of the TV set!

And his laugh...he told me that I used to make him laugh because I had a funny New York accent, so I'd talk, which made him burst out laughing, which in turn made me laugh at his country accent, and it would get so ridiculous that one summer we barely did anything at all except burst out laughing the moment we saw each other. Aunt Sarah looked at us, shook her head and said, "Keep it up, both ya'll gonna be in Central State."

Well 'Unka' Lee Roy, if we can't trust you in God's hands, whose hands can we trust you in?

So I'm feeling like you are now surrounded by love, and grace and that you are finally, resting.

Please tell my precious Aunt Sarah that I still feel her angel wings surround me. Tell your grandma Emma that it was a blessing to spend time with her when she moved in with you; and that her wisdom lives in my heart.

I'm imagining that you are greeted with smiling faces...like those of Uncle Earnest, Uncle Hazel, Uncle James, Uncle Jessie, Aunt Celia May and Aunt Ann, all of those that were blessed to know you as a brother, as they too rest in peace.

Thank you sir, for your service in the Army.

Thank you for the memories you gave us-both the children and the adults, laughing and cutting up in that living room on Wilcox Street, as after a long day at work you sat there just trying to watch tv - while we always had the record player on too (djay Linwood in the house!), and everybody was yelling, arguing and laughing over each other, which became even more fun when Carolyn and Damien showed up, and all of us throwing down on plates of all that amazing good soul food Aunt Louise makes with just the right secretive blending of seasonings that could never, ever be replicated, and the countless Parham offspring who by my last estimate is up to about a thousand, in the 23803 zip code alone, running around everywhere, while you, our loving, kind uncle, who could have easily been on the cover of GQ because of all that natural swagger, just sat there, drink in hand with a splash of orange juice - not bothered by the chaos at all.

And we all knew it was because...you loved us.

People may forget what others say to them, but they don't forget how they are made to feel. Uncle Lee Roy you made us feel loved.

Rest in peace, and in power, my awesome 'Unka' Lee Roy Walker and thank you for everything.

Dear Walker Family. It is with our deepest condolences that we express our sympathy to the Walker family. Frog was well known and a friend to many in the area. We have always known him to be a very kind man with a great but gentle spirit. May God grant you all the peace, comfort and strength needed to survive this bereavement period and know that the loving thoughts and prayers of family and friends are with you. So very sorry for your loss. May your fond memories of Frog's happier times soon bring smiles to your faces and hearts.
