MICHAEL L. CROCKER SR.

Mr. Michael Leroy Crocker, Sr. went on to be with the Lord, on Monday, December 17, 2018. He was welcomed in heaven by his son, Michael Crocker, Jr.; parents, James and Alice Crocker; five brothers, Deacon George Crocker, Sr., Rev. Melvin Crocker, Rev. Samuel Crocker, Sr. Raymond Crocker, and Edward Crocker; five sisters, Sarah Smith, Jacqueline Pegram, Barbara Books, Jewel Redd and Alice Mae Crocker.

Michael Leroy Crocker was the fourteenth child born on January 30, 1954. He loved God and was baptized at the Tabernacle Baptist Church at an early age. After graduating from high school, he attended St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA. While at St. Paul's he pledged with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Michael was employed with Central State Hospital as a Social Worker. He worked in several group homes as a social worker and he later established his own tax business. He also served in the United States Army Reserve.

Michael was an impeccable dresser. He kept his same weight ever since high school. He loved to dance and spend time with his family especially at family reunions and birthday parties.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted daughter, Chameeka Crocker; grandchildren, André Adkins, Jr., King Wiggins and Mikyra Crocker. He also leaves three brothers, James Crocker, Sr. (Florence, friend), Alphonso Crocker (Christine), and Deacon Ronald Crocker (Charlene); one sister, Vanessa Crocker; two sisters-in-law, Deaconess Nancy Crocker and Vivian Crocker; one brother-in-law, Douglas Smith; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., Pastor, eulogist. Interment to follow at the Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
