Mrs. Bacon was a frequent "substitute" teacher where I was a school librarian. I appreciated how she came dressed up for school, and always a smile. When her children visited the library she marched them in quietly and told me they were practicing beging "good citizens." and was hoping for a good report. She leaves pleasant memories of my teaching years.

Mrs. Bacon you were such an inspiration to my daughter (Alayshia Bailey-Lawson), it wasn't a day that you were not talked about in our home. From the day she meet you, and found out you were her grandma Lawson friend she fell in love with you. Thank you for treating her like one of your own, and loving her back. She misses so much and have a ton of questions, if only I knew how to answer them. R.I.P you are truly our angel and you will be missed dearly. Love always

Elementary teachers are often the most influential people during adolescence. I was fortunate to not only have been instructed, but inspired during her tenure at A.H. Jones Elementary in Stony Creek,VA. Both Principal & Mrs. Bacon encouraged us to literally "be all the student we could be." To Delma and the rest of the family, may the love of friends the peace of our Lord comfort you during the mourning and celebration of her life.

Mrs.Bacon will be dearly missed. She would sub in my room whenever I called. The students enjoyed being around her and they loved the piggy banks they would get from her. She would leave little goodies on my desk for me too. She always remembered that I needed a new pocket calendar each year and she recently brought in several for me this year. She gave from her heart and cared so much for the childern. She will always hold a special memory in my heart. I would like to give my condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one.

Mrs. Bacon taught during my third grade year at Eastside Elementary and it is the best memory I have of my years in school. She is one of the primary reasons I became an elementary teacher. There is a note that she wrote on one of my assignments that I have to this day framed and hanging on my office wall, it sustains me on the days that I feel less than accomplished. She treated us all as special individuals. Mrs. Bacon will be missed dearly.
