RUBY STITH Obituary

On Thursday night, December 1, 2016, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, our hearts were saddened by the sudden passing of our loved one, Deaconess Ruby Williamson Stith, 73, of Petersburg, Virginia.
She was born November 4, 1943, in Prince George County to Lejest Williamson and the late James Williamson. She was a 1962 graduate of J.E.J. Moore High School, Prince George. She was very active in various activities and always volunteered her services.
She was a member of Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church, Carson, Virginia. She loved the Lord and her church family. She served in many capacities: Deaconess Ministry, Board President of the Beautification Ministry, Missionary and Hospitality Ministry, and member of Senior Choir. She believed in sharing her gifts and talents with her church family.
Deaconess Stith was also active with the Prince George and Vicinity Fellowship of Churches, Prince George Gospel Ensemble and an active participant with the Bethany Baptist Association Concert Choir.
She was also actively involved with the Petersburg Sherriffs Office TRIAD Program for many years. She was a retired employee of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company, Petersburg, with over 20 years of service, and Carter Wallace, with over 10 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Daniel Williamson; her husband, Roper A. Stith, a sister, Carolyn Wiggins.
Left to treasure a legacy of precious and fond memories are her children, Kevin Stith (Catherine), Linda Jiggets, and Rodney Stith (Vanessa); mother Lejest Williamson; grandchildren, Finequa Graham, Rodkele Stith, Rodnesha Stith, Alanda Jiggets, Alvonte' Jiggets, Dashaun Coleman, and Kierra and Keyonna Stith; great-grandchildren Tashiaya Graham and Tasharde Graham; sisters, Laura Harper (Bernard), Sandra Ruffin (William), and a brother, Daniel R. Williamson; goddaughter, Danielle Proctor; godsisters and godbrother, Mary Jane Burrow, Della Brown, and Norman Brown; brother and sisters-in- law, Franklin Wiggins Sr., Valeria Sillah (Patrick), and Joyce Stith; aunts, Sarah Griffin (Ward Sr.) , Josephine Gregory, and Edith Gregory, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
A funeral service for Mrs. Ruby Stith will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 12 noon at the New Hope Baptist Church, Sussex. Burial will follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
