SHAWN A. HAMBLETON

Mr. Shawn Anthony Hambleton, 26, of Hopewell departed this life suddenly Sunday, May 24, 2015, from a fatal car accident.

Shawn spent the early years of his life at the Virginia Home for Boys from 11-18 years of age. He graduated from J.R. Tucker Class of 2007. He had a love for basketball and favorite team was the Chicago Bulls.

Shawn was employed with Brooks Car Wash, Hopewell, where he was known and loved by many. He would not turn anyone away, giving his last to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Margaret W. Tomlin and Elizabeth Hambleton; and cousin, James Tomlin.

Shawn leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Cleata Andrews (James Waycaster); father, Robert Tomlin (Marie Boyle); brothers, Bradley and Bryan Tomlin, Joseph Hambleton, Matthew Clark, Jacob Andrews; stepbrothers, Craig and Jason (Rhea) Boyle; sister, Jessica Tomlin; stepsister,Tara Stacy; uncles and aunts, William and Jerri Ann Tomlin, Roger and Suzanne Tomlin; several cousins; though no children, there was a bonding love for his nieces and nephews, Ny'Kaylah, Trashawn, Jazmyn, Brycen and Kaydenze Tomlin and Noah Hambleton.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the chapel of Turner-Bland Funeral Home, Hopewell, Pastor, Gary McReynolds, officiating. Interment to follow at Appomattox Cemetery.
