TRAMANE L. HOWARD SR.

Tramane Lamont Howard Sr., aka ""Kool G,"" 40, entered the ""Streets of Gold"" on Sunday, June 12, 2016.

Tramane was born on August 14, 1975, in Petersburg, Va., to Samuel (""Smiley"") J. Howard and Mary (""Liz"") Stith Howard. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va. Tramane was educated in the Chesterfield Public School System and graduated from Matoaca High School, Class of 1993. He loved sports and played basketball while attending Matoaca High, Richard Bland College, Ferrum College and Marymount University. He left Marymount University to raise his only son, Tramane Jr., whom he loved and nurtured. Tramane met his soul mate, Yacarsha, in 2007 and on September 14, 2012, they were united in holy matrimony by the Honorable Roger L. Gregory, an admired cousin. He was employed for 15 years by Securitas (Honeywell) as Security Supervisor. He loved to cook on the grill and spend time with his family and friends. Tramane mentored children in the neighborhood and coached the AAU football travel team with Good Shepherd Spirits for several years. He was also a member of Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #16, Prince Hall Affiliation.

Tramane is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Yacarsha Parham Howard; one loving son, Tramane Lamont Howard Jr.; mother, Mary Stith Howard; father, Samuel J. Howard; grandmother, Mildred E. Stith; two loving brothers, Tramal Andra Howard, Sr. (Charonda) and Sedrick Howard; one stepbrother, Brandon Marshall; two loving stepsisters, Shawntelle Diggs and Tara Williams (Ronnie); five nephews, Tramal and Tramir Howard, Jayvion Davis, Jamier Chatman and Z'mari Diggs; three nieces, Talia Howard, Londynn Davis and Jae'loni Haskins; thirteen aunts, Roberta Morgan (Rex), Debra Howard, Cherlyn Eure, Doris Cook, Sandra Thompson, Anna Stith, Phyllis Collins, Glenda Hines, Deborah Howard of San Diego, CA, Sandra Stith Smith (Charles) of Ellenwood, Ga., Dorothy Howard of Concord, N.C., Sheila Tann of Raleigh, N.C., Priscilla Salter of Baltimore, Md., and Sharon Stegall; five great-aunts, Rev. Barbara Jones, Bertha Brown Wright, Velma Rhue, Ida Edwards and Saundra Jones of Baltimore, Md.; one great-great aunt, Julia Cole; two uncles, Lee M. Tramane was preceded in death by grandparents, Dorothy and Samuel Howard and Lee M. Stith, Sr.; great-aunt, Alice (""Sis"") Fisher; uncles Andra and George Stith, Gerald Eure, Michael and Herbert Howard, Sr.; and mother-in-law, Towana Parham

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Petersburg. The pastor, Rev. Dr. Robert Diggs, Sr. The officiant will be Rev. John Conwell and Rev. Alexander Williams, eulogizing. Interment will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, 7324 Church Road, Petersburg. The public may view the remains on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Petersburg Chapel from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and one hour before at the church on the day of service.
