Walter Parrish Obituary
He was the son of the late Raymond Lee and Mattie Williams Parrish. He was a retired clerk of court with the City of Petersburg and a former owner of Pickwick Flowers and Gifts. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong member of the Third Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce P. Bracey and Peggy P. Titmus; two brothers Edgar W. Parrish and Clarence W. Parrish.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Payne Parrish of Petersburg; daughter, Rose Marie Parrish Steffen of Mevane, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Third Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
