Wayne T. Pulliam

Wayne Thomas Pulliam of 130 Liberty St. passed away at Southside Regional Medical Center in the evening hours of Thursday, March 10, 2011.
Wayne was born on Dec. 2, 1955. He was part of a happy family of 10 children. Elder Waller baptized Wayne in Straight Away Holiness Church as a young child. When his Uncle Theodore and Aunt May Pulliam became his parents at age 6, they gave him a firm religious foundation. Wayne attended school in Chesterfield, Va.
His work at Virginia Linen demonstrated 21 years of hard work and dedication. Due to his declining health, Wayne only worked a few years at S&S Tire Co. on Bolingbrook Street in Petersburg, Va. Later in life, he attended services at God's Mission of Faith Church. His departure from this world was in the late hours of March 10, 2011. Wayne will be solemnly missed by all who knew him.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Jesse Bell Pulliam; sister, Susie Harvell; three brothers, Joseph, Roman Jr., and Langston Pulliam.
Left to cherish Wayne's memory is his loving son Steven Leron Washington; brothers, Leon Alonzo Pulliam (Viveca), Kenneth Lorenzo Pulliam (Hattie); sisters, Louise Macklin (Junious), Lillie Draper (Ronnie), Gene Deloris Pulliam (Jimmie); step-daughter, Shirdell Gill (Goldie); devoted friends, Tamela Denise Dean, Dorothy Eldridge (Diann), and Jackie Goodson; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and devoted friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 3:30 p.m., at Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA 23803.
The internment will be at Mt. Minnis Memorial Park, Chester, Va.
The Rev. Virginia Graham will officiate. Relatives and friends will kindly assemble at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Remains rest at the Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg. A.A. Tucker, funeral director.
