Wilbert Lane, Sr.
Mr. Wilbert Lane, Sr., of Hampton entered eternal rest on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Sentara Hospital, Hampton. He was born on August 12, 1946 in Pennsylvania, PA, to the late Roosevelt Lane, Sr. and Ellen Johnson-Lane. Wilbert, affectionately known as "Jack", retired from Allied Chemical after many years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his dog, PeeWee, and watching Westerns. Wilbert was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Leonard Walker. Wilbert is survived by his wife, Robin Jackson of Hampton; children, Jackie Lane McCombs (Jeffrey) and Wilbert Lane, Jr. both of North Carolina, Ericka Lane-Gholston and Thomas Lane both of Hopewell and Andrew Garnett of Georgia; six grandchildren, Crystal Lane-Leveille (Jefferson) of Alabama, Wayne Gholston, Jr. and Jasmine Gholston both of Hopewell, Sonniah Lane of New Jersey, Jamari Garnett of Petersburg, and Jayda Garnett of Georgia; eight great grandchildren; six sisters, Arnetta Pender (Charles), Durba Allen, Robin Gholson, Connie Pullen, Darlene Tucker (Wilbur) and Paula Taylor; four brothers, Larry Lane, Roosevelt Lane, Jr., Bobby Walker (Annette) and Wendell Jones (Sherry); special relatives, Linda Gholson and Keith Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Sentara Hospital, Hampton and to all who have visited and kept our family in prayer during this time.
