OAKWOOD – E. Stan Ferris, 87, of Oakwood, passed away at 4:11 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born October 28, 1938, in Paulding to the late Paul and Hazel (Kretzinger) Ferris. On June 28, 1965, he married Lydia Robbins, who survives in Oakwood.
Other survivors include two children: Kim Bartley of Oakwood and Mark Ferris of Defiance; five grandchildren: Courtney (Ryan) Martin, Maddison (Drew) Conley, Jordan Bartley, Trenton Bartley and Mackenzie (Andre) Brown; four great-grandchildren: Ryker Conley, Kaison Brown, Kamille Brown and Maya Knowles; and a brother, Stuart (Marlene) Ferris of Delta.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kennedy Ferris.
Stan was a veteran of the US Army and retired from SK Hand Tool, Defiance. He was a member of Melrose United Methodist Church. Stan was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. He loved music and spending time with his friends and family.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Oakwood Community Church with Rev. Eileen Kochensparger officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Oakwood, and again on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Oakwood Community Church.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
