Amelia DeMarco

DeMARCO, AMELIA, "MIA" (MARZILLI) 90, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2013. For 67 years, she was the beloved wife of Nello DeMarco. Born in Colfelice, Italy she was the daughter of the late Amato Marzilli and Ann Maria (Colantonio) Marzilli. She came to America at the age of 3 and lived in North Providence for most of her life. She is survived by four daughters, Audrey Maratta, Vera DeMarco and her husband Len Furtado, Diane DeMarco and her husband Dan Gassner, Gail DeMarco, and only son Peter DeMarco. She was devoted to her "treasures" grandchildren, Kenny, Ava, Ella, Gianna, Eliza, Luciano, and Dylan. She was the sister of the late Rocco, and Angelo Marzilli, Maria Santoro, Ida Palmisciano, Toni Morrison, and Lena Medeiros. Amelia was a longtime communicant of St. Anthony Church in North Providence. She volunteered at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, was active in local politics, and in the PTA. Amelia was a member of the North Providence Senior Center and Saint Anthony Church choir. Calling hours Friday, 5-8 PM in the A. A. MARIANI & SON Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins St. Providence.
